Nevada opened their season Friday night to a rousing 72-19 win over Portland State. Never before in the history of Mackay Stadium has a team put up that amount of points. After falling behind 9-0 early, Pack would put up 63 points while shutting out Portland State in the second half. At one point, the silver and blue scored a touchdown on 6 straight drives racking up more than 630 yards of total offense. The most from Nevada since the 2012 New Mexico Bowl back when Cody Fajardo was the starting quarterback.

As far as the defense was concerned, despite giving up 2 long touchdown passes, Pack held Portland State to just 107 rushing yards on 43 carries while holding the Vikings to 3-19 on third down.

You can catch Jay Norvell's full interview on Wolf Pack All Access airing Sunday after Sunday Night Football.

Up next for Nevada, a road trip to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt out of the SEC. It's an early start for the Silver and Blue with a 9 am kickoff Northern Nevadan time. You can watch it live on the SEC Network or you can listen to John Ramey on the call on ESPN Radio 94.5 FM.
