Much planning goes into pulling off a Super Bowl Halftime show like Usher's during Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas. Dionne Harmon was the show's co-executive producer and recently granted News 3's Latoya Silmon, her childhood friend, a very hard-to-get interview.

When talking about what it's like to be in her position, Harmon said, "I do pinch myself a lot of times. I have to say the Superbowl halftime is probably the most exciting 15 minutes of TV."

The co-executive producer for Usher's big moment, Rihanna's last year, and the award-winning performance that featured legends like Dr. Dre and Snoop at So-Fi Stadium in 2022 is part of history.

"It was the first Emmy the Super Bowl has ever won. So, that's incredible," Harmon explained.

Harmon works side by side with her fiancé' Jesse Collins. He's the owner of Jesse Collins Entertainment.

Collins made headlines in 2021 when he became the first Black producer of the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Harmon, also the company's president, has produced everything from Emmy's to the Oscars. It's quite the resume for a Harvard graduate who originally wanted to be a doctor.

"I had a chance encounter with someone who is now one of my best friends who worked at MTV. I ended up interviewing for a job there, and it completely changed the course of my life," she said.

Harmon worked her way up, shattering stereotypes along the way.

It is an exciting period of growth in the industry for women, but even having said that there are times when I'm sitting in our control room, and someone comes up and says hey, this is where executive producers, sit extras are over there," explained Harmon.

Despite the challenges, her work speaks for itself.

She's a creator of magical and memorable moments, with millions watching.
